Amicus Brief Advisory Board

My background—24 years as a licensed real estate attorney and 18 years as a REALTOR®—will provide a unique professional perspective to the Amicus Brief Advisory Board and the Legal Action Committee. I have broad experience in the industry. I worked as a residential appraiser for five years before law school. After law school, I worked as a title insurance company claims administrator/litigator for five years before practicing as a real estate agent and attorney. I’m in my fifth year as an NAR Director and am the 2018 President-Elect for the Seattle/King County Association of REALTORS®,

The two things I value most about holding a leadership role at NAR are the opportunity it gives me to cultivate professional relationships and the opportunity it gives me to use my career experiences and skills to benefit our members. Based on reason and logic, I seek and encourage differing opinions. I’m approachable and inclusive. I tend to listen more than I speak. My experience confirms that such is required of an effective leader. I intend to continue to lead by example and inspire others to similarly volunteer and become genuinely involved with NAR staff and leadership in the good work of this fine association. I would not be where I am at today as a real estate professional if it weren’t for the 100+ year history of NAR and its continuous grassroots oversight and advocacy for the interests of U.S. homeowners and the real estate industry. I consider this role an honor and a tremendous opportunity to further give back to this association that has been so good for our industry.
