Association Executives Committee

I bring a unique perspective, having served in four association executive jobs with membership counts of 250, 800, 1,500 and now over 8,000. I know what it’s like to work for an association with an MLS and one without. I know what it is like to be a one-person office and what it’s like to manage a staff. This experience enables me to relate to AEs and their leadership from across the country, regardless of their association size. In addition, I had the privilege of serving as a mediator for several years in the court system of Virginia. The skills I brought to that work have helped me sort through what people are trying to communicate and bring about consensus. Finally, I believe in being positive, and I like to surround myself with positive people. Fortunately, there are always plenty of AEs ready to step up and do the work of the AEC with a can-do attitude. I have long recognized the importance of the AEC in bringing local, state and national together in the common goal of serving our members.
