Lynda Nugent Smith

Vice Chair
Risk Management Issues Committee

I hope to share my knowledge to assist others. It is a pleasure to think that my many roles in this great business of ours—broker, owner, negotiator, consultant, and manager—might be of benefit to others. As a current real estate commissioner and risk manager for a 250-agent company, I have had a vast array of business experiences. I’ve been a leader in our local, state and national associations, as well as other boards and organizations. My legislative experience and contacts, developed in working on real estate matters over the years, has served my community and business associates well. Representing others in a variety of civic matters, such as chairing an economic development commission, a charter school board, and governmental task forces, provides an opportunity to do good work within our ever-changing industry. Working on legislative and regulatory changes that help the public as well as our industry has been a great part of my life’s work. My business is now a family affair. My daughter and son-in-law are my “second generation” partners and give me the ability to continue to take care of my clients while I give time back to our industry, my community, the association, and civic causes. Just as important, they are now involved in professional endeavors and leadership to carry on into the future. Much of my professional development came to me through my REALTOR® leadership training and experiences. It’s time to give back.
